Yay!

Well before my melt down I managed to take some pics of the idocus body. He still wasn't turning out black enough and I realized I missed a huge area where a spot will be later. So I started to use black paint and then the mess with the gesso happened.

But a box arrived today to cheer me up a lot! Everyone wanted to know what was inside.

note the white gesso stains!

the cat really wanted to know!
It was a long sought after foal named Griffin a 2010 Equilocity run. I've wanted her for a while and found one listed on MH$P. These aren't normally listed for sale so I jumped on the chance. I'm still looking for her mother, Diller. I haven't decided if I want the regular Diller or the factory custom.

Aren't they cute?
They all have different faces which is really cool! I still have one more baby coming to me, Manea....hopefully Stone will ship her soon.

Melt down

Do you ever have one of those days where everything is going good and you're working on a project and then BAM! Something happens? I had a melt down after spilling gesso all over the carpet. Yes, I know that I shouldn't have been painting anywhere near the carpet. I thought the jar was sealed so I took it up to shake and.....it went all over my sweat pants, carpet, and school book. After staring in shock for a few seconds I frantically began to scrub it up. After that I angerly put the idocus body away and all my supplies. Then I started furiously cleaning because I was the mad the apartment looked so junky......now I sit here subdued only because I have managed to give myself chest pains.....and I'm pretty sure I need a nap......I can totally relate to the scene in Julie & Julia where Julie drops the chicken she is trussing onto the floor and then proceeds to cry while laying in the mess. I suppose we all need to throw a childish fit once in a while and today was my day. I don't know when I will get the idocus body back out. Probably when I don't have a mountain of reading to do for school and the house is clean.....for now I leave you with a cute picture of my dog to cheer myself up with.
and of course this needed to be extra large after stomping around like godzilla

Latest stuff

Well between cramming my brain full of Historical Preservation information, working 11p-7a, finding sleeping time, and having a life I have started a new custom. He is with the Idocus body I had purchased for a possible comission and since he was already coming to me I decided to make him mine. He is going to be a black pinto warmblood modeled after the stallion Arts Aero. This amazing stallion can be found on his farm's website: http://www.blazingcoloursfarm.com/Artsaero.htm

Here are some progress pics:

Eventually he will be black and a lot of it will be covered up with his white pattern. I blocked in huge chunks of color to make it easier to shade. He is still in his chocolate brown phase but with lots and lots of layers he will be black....when I can find time that is.

note the evil cat in background!

Newest member to join up at my house is Ruby. She arrived perfect at first glance but I have discovered she has a leg that doesn't lie flat. Her left back leg actually juts upward. You can see this in the second picture of her below. I am debating sending her back to Stone for a replacement or repair. I've never sent anything back and I know this process probably takes forever so I will debate for a few days. Not to mention the white stone box she came in got destroyed by my naughty bored dogs:
my sleepy ever so cute Lily is in the background

Pictured with my OOAK Walnut, aren't they cute?
There are others who will eventually make it into my blog hopefully sooner than later. I don't work tonight so between homework and relaxing I may dust some more.

Internet Outage

I haven't been doing anything horse related for a little while. Coda will have to be put on hold until a later time. In the mean time I've started graduate school and my spare time between working and sleeping has been homework. I've also gotten a smart phone. I know, I know, it's about time.
I made a friend over the weekend! Her name is Lucy and she's a Jack Russell mix. Everyone knows I have a weakness for Jack Russells because I grew up with them. She was no exception! Someone was dog sitting her and brought her along to my boyfriend's family reunion. The little pup was turning into a pup-cicle so I put her in my fleece and she then took a nap. It has been so long since I had a puppy that I almost forgot what it was like!

Possible Commission :)

I was contacted by a very nice young lady named Liz to paint a portrait of her favorite horse named Coda.

A chestnut gelding that is very pretty with a blaze that starts off as a sea horse! She has picked out the Idocus mold as the one she wants and hopefully that will get here soon. So between work and Grad school he will be my latest project and will fill my blog....he will at least if there aren't any more monster high doll invaders!

Explosion!

So I think I might have a problem....lmao
My collection is now up to eight. The coolest one by far is the Hydration Station that lights up and bubbles!
I haven't worked on anything new since finishing up the bridle, I guess it left me a little tired. I'm getting ready to start Graduate school on Wednesday so horsey stuff might be put on hold. I am really excited about starting school again. It has been super boring just working at Meijer. We go back to Grand Rapids next weekend and I'm hoping to pick up some already dyed lace. I am thinking of making another English bridle that is black with silver and will plan on selling it. So if anyone is interested in it let me know.
