Art Prize for real! (Pt 1)

The chip is back in our hands via mail so now I can share my ArtPrize pictures! WARNING  This is going to be VERY image intensive! There was just so much cool art and it is well worth sharing. This first post will be on the horse related art we saw last weekend.
These horses were made from driftwood and were located in the Grand River, super cool!

Now okay these weren't a part of the art but how could I not resist taking pictures of these cute doggies!

or these cute puppies outside the Gerald R. Ford Museum!
This was also a favorite piece of mine! It is the pawprints of future leader dogs in three sections. The pawprints get larger as you go from right to left as the puppies got bigger. It was sooo cute!

This was also a very pretty piece. I think it was done with pencil but it was amazing. Both the pawprints and the horses below were located inside The B.O.B (The Big Old Building, which is a building with restaurants, bars, a comedy club, and a brewery.)

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

Yesterday was bath day for Moe and Lily. And while they didn't actually enjoy the water part they love the rub down with towels.
Stupid gesso stain, lol

Then Moe and Eclipse decided to watch leaves together

And Moe went in for a sniff!
Last night after class I decided to make a good halter for an ISH with the pre-dyed black lace I picked up at Tandy's in Grand Rapids. It turned out wonderfully! I really need to get some more hardware though, I'm running out quickly!

I plan on making halters for all of my weanlings eventually, probably when I get more hardware. They are all eagerly waiting on them too....
Don't they look like they are having a good gossip?
I woke up this morning to TWO more click-n-ship messages so hopefully all that I am waiting on (besides the Fall Fiesta Morgan and my DAH) will be here by the end of the week or Monday. Okay I have been saving the best for last in this post. My 1 of 5 black windswept ISH arrived today and let me tell you, she is soooo pretty!!  She has no markings and wonderful eyes. I wish the five of us who got her on the video sale could find out more about her. We decided to name her Masquerade and it is very fitting.

She looks slightly green due to the reflection of the grass on her

A light box picture of her

Her color is hard to capture with my camera so I may end up stealing my boyfriend's really nice camera to take pictures of her tonight. I am thinking of making her a dark blue halter with that new dye I got. Picking colors for her is going to be really difficult. Maybe a light tan saddle would work....hmmm. I am thinking of later on designing a colt to go with her but picking a color for the baby is ALSO going to be hard.

Three boxes :D

After coming home we noticed the mail lady was in the entryway so I got super excited.  Jake waited a little while and then took the dogs to go check the mail... and came back with THREE boxes!

What could possibly be inside all these boxes??

Two Lagoonas were in the mushed USPS box (a long story on how long it took these to get here and how I won't buy from this girl again!)
An autographed Breyerfest Roxy which was a steal on ebay

And finally the Stone box!!! Jake offered to stand and jump on the box like the test videos. This did NOT happen! LOL. This box feels more sturdy than the older boxes and I think Stone did a good job selecting them. Here is what was inside!
Eclipse always wants a chance at stardom.....

My OOAK Miranda is super cute! Her color is hard to capture with my camera. She is a really nice bay and has wonderfully painted eyes. I wonder who painted her. I have another click-n-ship for that Black ISH and I can't wait to see her in person!

ArtPrize post.....or not!

ArtPrize was fun this year but I think waiting until the last weekend was a bad idea. The lines were so long! We took pictures of the horse related art and I came home yesterday to put them on my blog and when I popped open the side of Jake's camera there was no memory card! We had left it at his mom's house. It was pretty funny. I did get some awesome loot at the Tandy Leather store in Grand Rapids though. I love shopping that clearance section because I always find really good deals.
All this for just $20!
The small box of dye is a blue color so I am interested in maybe making a blue saddle or halter. I have seen red ones in the past and I could really make that ocean themed one I joked about in an earlier post. Moe scored some loot as well:

We were digging through Halloween stuff at the house before going downtown and found this! I put it on him and while he doesn't look too happy in this picture he gladly sniffed around in other boxes with it still on. He ended up wearing the pumpkin part all day!

OOAK Miranda should be delivered tomorrow which is super exciting and I got another click-n-ship for my Masquerade!  I don't have classes tomorrow so I will be working on homework and taking pictures of my pretty babies!

Lansing, Grand Rapids, and horsies!

Today I am headed to Lansing for Oktoberfest and then on to Grand Rapids for Art Prize. While I'm driving across Michigan, Miranda is on her way to me:

I really can't wait to see this little gal in person. Manea and my mystery windswept ISH should be shipping too. Not sure if they are all together but I hope so. The black ISH is in this video here:

I guess this is a run of 5 that was hidden away at the warehouse. They were shown at Equilocity 2011 during the PJ sale. Randy says they were never release. The five of us that nabbed them (for only $50!!) voted and named him Masquerade. We're not even sure if they are mares or stallions. I hope they are stallions!

UPDATE:

This is what she looks like courtesy of Stephanie Derf who snagged the first one on the video sale
