Calamity Jane

My unpainted Calamity Jane is on her way to Sherry Clayton to be painted. I'm so excited! She is going to be painted as a grullo paint, Snifty Fashion. Pictures of her can be seen here, http://americanhorsesvalley.wifeo.com/snifty-fashion.php

I can't wait to see her painted and hopefully she will be done before a show I'd like to attend in August. I'm currently working on a western side saddle but I am struggling with it. I don't think I really like the tree I used but I guess I will just have to soldier on and put it all together. 

Dolls Stands and Barrel Saddle

So after work today instead of thinning leather like I had wanted to (one loses motivation the moment you sit on the couch) I made doll stands. I followed a short How-to (thanks Jennifer!) and made two stands. Granted the wire is blue but that's all I had! I think they look pretty great and work well.

Pretty good right? You don't really notice it! Below is something I've been working on for the couple of days. I've really wanted to use my Kittydidit resin in performance and since I don't have an English saddle I've got to stick to what I know. I designed a barrel saddle to use in some speed games. It isn't totally done but I'm pretty happy with the results.

I've got some tweaking to do but plenty of time to do it as my next show isn't until September (hopefully!). I've got some poles and some barrels I've made to go with the set and I need a barrel racing doll that matches. 

Packing for NAN

This pack set was commissioned to take to NAN and I couldn't be more excited. I've been working hard on it for the last few days. All of the harness is completed and I only have bags, double cinch, and lead to make. I can't wait to see how it does later this month.

Donations

Last night an a majority of today was spent watching the Harry Potter movies and making show halters for donations. I have five shows (so far) that I am donating to:

I'm pretty excited about donating. I'm finding that it is a good way for me to get my name out here as a tackmaker.

I have leads to make for all of them and I haven't decided which show gets which halters. I may have Jake decide, lol. I plan getting business cards soon to stick in any commissions people order and give a few in the show donations. 

A little junk in the trunk....

Jake really is the biggest supporter of my work. Not only does he have his own horses and doesn't say much when almost a box a week arrives, he also makes things for me. This week he completed a tack trunk for me. It is fabulous! He is hoping to make more in the future for those that want them.
