Birthday Presents!

Yesterday was my birthday and I worked third shift around it so celebrating was minimal. My wonderful boyfriend got me a mini birthday cake and lit candles and sang Happy Birthday to me :) So today after voting we went Breyer hunting! I got a good haul and am very happy (but for one thing and you'll see why) with what I got today.

kitty? i didn't order a kitty!

The only problem I have with all of these Breyers is Heartbreaker, he doesn't stand at all. His back leg is bowed inward and it makes it impossible to stand him. I know you can use hot water to fix this but I'm not sure how to do this. If anyone knows please tell me how!

This little guy is sooo cute!

I will be taking pics of all these guys outside with good light. Zanyatta and her colt have wonderful shading and even a few dapples. I've wanted the little Jack Russell for a while and glad I found her! The little stuffed horse was a webkin given to me by my friend Brian last night at work. More horses may follow, lol.....

Big Box

I finally get a large box from Stone and the stupid cat doesn't want to play with it much...lol. She was curious at first...

But like cats do she quickly lost interest and found something else to do. So what was inside?

Brinkman.....Not sure if I care for his dapples....they seem kind of harsh in person but in pictures they seem soft. This mold is very nice tacked up though! The bridle that fits Roxy so well also fits the Foundation Quarter Horse.

My Fall Fiesta Morgan was also in the large box. Very happy to have him sitting with my fall decorations :)

Handsome, yes?
In keeping with the fall theme here is a picture of my boyfriend and me for halloween

I have eight days left until the Novi Equestrian Expo so most of any sort of horse time will be cleaning and touch ups. Surrounding all of that will be homework and major projects for the semester. I might not have time for blogging!

Saddle as of today

I've done quite a bit of work on the saddle over the week. Lots of work still needs to be done but at least it looks like a saddle now! I'm hoping this set will fit Brinkman if he is in that box that should arrive tomorrow.

Breyer Web Special Luna

So last week I entered in the contest to win Luna, a decorator Ruffian. Emails went out to winners and I wasn't one of them. But today I got an email from Breyer saying I'd won her off the waitlist!!! I'm super excited, I love, love, love the Ruffian mold. I have three of them already, all race horses so a decorator is going to be a good change.

I also got a Click-N-Ship email from Stone Horses. I am hoping Brinkman and Fall Fiesta are in there together but I somehow doubt it. In a few days I'll know!

Bridle finished

The bridle is almost done. I just need to tweak a few things and this beauty will be complete!

I also have an updated pic on the saddle that it goes with. I'm currently working on dying some more leather to make rigging. Stay tuned for more!

Bridle Started

I didn't do a whole lot last night with my new creation but I did get most of the bridle done. It still needs some work but it is looking promising. I will be adding metal plates on the cheek pieces and also on the ear piece. A curb chain will also be added later along with reins. I am leaning toward using braided floss because that looks so nice.

New basket weave

Since I got my new basket weave stamp tool I have been wanting to see what I could do with it. My last post was just a preview. Well here is what I am currently working on (when I find time between my HABS report and reading for classes). I am creating the most elegant western pleasure set I've ever attempted. I want this to dazzle in the show ring. It is really a shame that I couldn't participate in the performance side of the show in two week with what I am creating. I could always take it along and see if they would still let me. Anywho...here are progress pics!

Right after I got done stamping
The next photos are how the set looks currently. This has two days of work put into it. I stamped, carved, and dyed the leather. I then added the decorative metal plates to the edges. It is already impressing me with how far I have come!

Poor Gemstone.....He will once again be the model of choice

And just in case anyone was curious, here is a picture of my collection. This doesn't include a box of Grand Champions I have sitting under my desk or the customs I have in various stages. Nutcracker Prince and Keltic Salierno are the boxes between the white shelving. This also doesn't include any Peter Stones I am waiting on. Enjoy!

Almost all of my Peter Stones

My weanling conga! Cute, right?
